Back at again after taking a break for a week – last week was hectic! When I wasn’t starting work in the morning I was busy in the evenings, from family visits to dogsitting. Needless to say, I didn’t have time to make juice!
So for this week I decided to go all out – I think I pulled out every green ingredient I could find in our kitchen for this one. I generally don’t like juice if it isn’t sweet, but this was amazing! Really awesome flavours and so good for you, too.
This makes enough for two. Remove the seeds from your apples, wash everything, and you’re all set.
- 3 granny smith apples
- 1/2 bunch of spinach
- 4 stalks of celery
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1/2 bunch of cilantro
- 1 lime
- a chunk of ginger
This might just be my new favourite green juice. Not only is it packed full of vitamin A and potassium, but spinach adds massive amounts of other nutrients like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and folate. It’s good for you all around, supporting a healthy body in all aspects, and it tastes great, so get it in ya!
What a beautiful week we’re having! It’s finally starting to feel like summer, which means my favourite fruits are finally in season. Peaches! Watermelon! Kiwis! Expect some delicious fruity concoctions in the next few weeks, because I am so ready.
I’m on a bit of a green juice bender. It’s so refreshing! There’s nothing better than cucumber or celery after a solid workout (so rehydrating!), especially when it’s warm out. And I’m way more likely to consume green veggies if I drink them. So this juice is a little refresher for a beautiful sunny day. It ranks as one of my favourites for sure – it almost tastes like a mojito.
I’ve never juiced a kiwi before so I wasn’t sure if I should peel it or not, but I don’t have the best juicer so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to peel. Remove the seeds from the apples and pears, wash everything, and you’re golden. Be prepared for some separation with this one! Just give it a shake before you drink it if you don’t plan on drinking it right away. This made enough for 2 and a little extra.
- 4 kiwis
- 3 pears
- 1 granny smith apple
- 1/2 a cucumber
- a couple stalks of mint
- 1/4 of a lemon
Overall this juice is great for your eyes and skin. Kiwis are packed with vitamin C, A, and folate, as well as potassium, and small amounts of calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Granny Smith’s, cucumbers, and pears are also full of vitamin A and potassium.
I meant for this to be a sweet juice, because we picked up the nicest looking strawberries today. It ended up being quite tart, but still super tasty.
Wash all the veggies, peel the lemon, cut the big stuff into quarters, and you’re good to go. I add lemon because I like the taste, but it helps to add lemon if you don’t plan on drinking it right away (it slows down the oxidation).
