You Spinach My Head Right ‘Round

What a sweet summer Sunday. This is usually our grocery day, otherwise known as us hoarding as many fruits and vegetables as we can fit into our $100 budget. I just finished off a 6 day work week and was looking for a bit of a refresher, and this juice did the trick.

Green juice is just the best. Pick a leafy green (or two), a little water content (celery, cucumber), a little sweetness (apple, orange, pineapple) and a little zest (lime, lemon, ginger) and you’re good to go. The possibilities are endless.

  • 1/2 a bunch of spinach
  • 1 bunch of kale
  • 4 small apples or 2 big ones
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 lime

This was so simple, but so delicious. And just look at that colour!

Spinach is full of calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin A, and even a little bit of vitamin C. Kale also has lots of calcium, potassium, as well as vitamin C and folate. The apples add a little extra vitamin C, in addition to potassium and vitamin A. Limes, of course, also add a pop of vitamin C. This juice is a great immune booster, good for your eyes, bones, and skin, and helps to reduce blood pressure. What’s not to love?
