I’m back! After a whirlwind summer (got married, started an online program, worked my butt off), I’m back on the juicing train, and I’ve got some really good stuff on the way.
This juice was so simple, refreshing, delicious. Recipe makes two.
- 1/2 pineapple
- 3 kiwis
- 1 cucumber
- 2 granny smith apples
- 1 lemon

I can’t get enough of pineapple! I have been avoiding processed sugar as much as I can, and this juice has just the right amount of natural sugar to keep me going. We’ve all been there – it’s 4pm and all you really want is to go HAM on any sugary snacks you can get your hands on. I refuse to believe this only happens to me! I find juice with pineapple or orange is a great compromise.
This was sweet and a little bit spicy. Pineapples are still on sale, so I think a lot of my juices this month are going to feature pineapple, and I’m okay with that!
Wash, peel, chop. This made two.
- 1/2 pineapple
- 3 stalks of celery
- 1/2 bunch of romaine
- chunk of ginger
- handful on cilantro
This juice is packed with potassium, vitamin A, vitamin C, folate, calcium, vitamin K, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatories. It packs a bit of a spicy punch that evens out the sweetness of the pineapple in just the right amount. The perfect afternoon pick-me-up that is full of all the good stuff.
It has been the most beautiful sunny week! I could go on for ages about how much I love summer (I’ll spare you). One thing I always struggle with during the summer is staying hydrated. One of the most hydrating veggies is cucumber, so I decided to incorporate it into my juice this week. Which, by the way, was so good. I love eating and drinking pineapple, it’s so sweet and delicious and finally affordable now that it’s summer.
This juice wasn’t too sweet, too earthy, or too spicy. It can be risky trying out new recipes (like that time I juiced broccoli and it was so weird), but these ingredients worked really well.
Wash everything, remove the skin from the pineapple and the seeds from the apples. This made two!
- 1/2 pineapple
- 1 cucumber
- 2 limes
- 3 gala apples
- chunk of ginger
Pineapple is packed with potassium and vitamin C, as well as small amounts of other vitamins and minerals. Cucumbers also have a ton of potassium, and high amounts of vitamin A. Because they have such a high water content they make a great ingredient to add when you need a little extra hydration. Overall this juice covers a lot of your bases: vitamin A and C, potassium, micronutrients, as well as antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. Can’t go wrong with a sweet healthy treat!
Summer is finally here, and I’ve been running around getting as much wedding stuff done as possible. Admittedly, I’ve been ignoring this blog, but I’m hoping to get back on track (and I have some sweeeet recipes comin’ at ya this week).
It took forever to decide what this juice would be. After suggesting it a million times, I finally took Esrah’s advice and decided to use grapefruit in this recipe. I generally don’t like grapefruit juice – it’s bitter, not overly sweet, makes my tongue tingle (okay, so maybe that’s a slight allergy); however, this ended up being pretty good. This juice was bitter and subtly sweet. The cucumber added a nice touch, taking away from some of the bitterness of the turmeric. All in all, the flavours worked pretty well together, and I’d definitely make this again with some tweaks (I’d add orange next time!).
- 4 carrots
- 3 grapefruits
- 1 cucumber
- knob of turmeric
- knob of ginger
Turmeric and ginger have many health benefits, including being rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Grapefruit is great for your blood pressure, heart, and immune system as it is full of vitamin C. Carrots have a ton of vitamin A, making them great for your eyes and skin. Finally, cucumber packs a rehydrating punch, as it consists of mostly water. If you’re looking for something a little different, but still want something with a great taste, this one’s for you!
It’s finally summer! And our wedding is in 45 days! Everything is coming together, and today I had my first dress fitting. I seriously love the summertime, and what a summer this will be.
I decided to try something a little different this week. I had some plums that were about to go bad, a ridiculous amount of purple cabbage left over from this recipe, and a craving for something a little earthy. What emerged was something surprisingly good!
This made enough for one. Peel the orange, wash everything, remove the stones from the plums.
- 3 plums
- 2 stalks of celery
- 1/2 beet
- 1 orange
- 1/4 purple cabbage
- a couple handfuls of lettuce (I used romaine and green leaf)
I didn’t expect much from this recipe, and definitely didn’t expect it to be so tasty. Last time I juiced with red cabbage I used way too much, and it ended up being extremely spicy and really just bad. I was cautious this time, and only used 1/4, which made a huge difference.
Cabbage and plums are seriously packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, making them awesome ingredients to any juice, much like spinach. The are great for great for supporting immune health, digestion, lowering cholesterol, good for your heart, brain, bones, skin, and eyes. Seriously, these two ingredients are powerhouses of good stuff. The addition of the lighter ingredients simply enhance the flavour, while still adding more vitamins and minerals. Of all the juice I’ve made so far, this one might just be the best one for you.
Back at again after taking a break for a week – last week was hectic! When I wasn’t starting work in the morning I was busy in the evenings, from family visits to dogsitting. Needless to say, I didn’t have time to make juice!
So for this week I decided to go all out – I think I pulled out every green ingredient I could find in our kitchen for this one. I generally don’t like juice if it isn’t sweet, but this was amazing! Really awesome flavours and so good for you, too.
This makes enough for two. Remove the seeds from your apples, wash everything, and you’re all set.

This might just be my new favourite green juice. Not only is it packed full of vitamin A and potassium, but spinach adds massive amounts of other nutrients like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and folate. It’s good for you all around, supporting a healthy body in all aspects, and it tastes great, so get it in ya!
I’ll admit, I made this mostly just for fun. I had half a watermelon, an ever-growing mint plant, and it was a beautiful hot day. So. Refreshing.
A juicer is really not necessary to make this, and unless you don’t use a centrifugal juicer, I’d recommend not using a juicer. A blender, a nutribullet, or even a hand mixer, will all do the trick. I’m thankful I thought, last minute, to throw on an apron “just in case.” The explosion of watermelon that followed was as funny as it was messy. Lesson learned!
I bought a strain of mint called Strawberry Mint, and it has the sweetest, loveliest scent and taste. I thought it would make great mojitos, but I see myself using it in lots of juices this summer as well.

- optional: vodka 😉
